Job Description: Under the direction of the Director of Workforce Development, will provide support and assist in Workforce Development activities in the Continuing Education division. Expected number of hours per week will be 15-20 hours per week.

Qualifications: Knowledge of: Principles and practices of PC’s and related software. Course design and organization, including development of lesson plans and course outlines and knowledge of teaching methods. Needs assessment procedures and expertise in course and instructor evaluation. Adult education theories and practices. Organizational, planning, and administrative skills to coordinate a variety of courses and activities. Ability to: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Operate a PC and related software. Coordinate efforts with a wide range of organizations in a variety of locations. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the public, businesses, industries, organizations and the general public.

Essential Duties: Provides clerical, administrative, and technical assistance for Occupation Extension (OE) and Customized Training Projects (CTP) courses. Provides coordination of Steps4Growth program. Works in partnership with Director of Workforce Development to ensure course materials for OE and CTP classes are prepared and ready for distribution. Assists with the end of semester and year-end reports. Assists with class coordination and class reporting for grants, Steps4Growth, OE and CTP classes. Assists with registration and transfers of students. Assists with course starts and close outs. Orders course materials and supplies using E-procurement. Reserves classrooms and equipment needed for on-campus courses. Attends professional development as needed. Capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through on all projects to completion. Travel to various industries in the county to assist with CTP courses. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Education and Experience: Education that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities which may include an Associate Degree in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field (significant administrative experience in lieu of an Associate Degree may be considered). Industry, budgeting or grant experience is preferred.
