Wilson Community College will kick off a new course this Spring. The Going Places Network is a six-week virtual program designed specifically for unemployed and underemployed women, ages 18 and older. During this short-term course, students will gain long-term employability skills.
There’s an emphasis on both personal and professional development, employability skills, setting goals, and developing an action plan. Students will learn how to write a cover letter, prepare a resume, and practice in mock interviews.
There will not only be weekly sessions, but also one-on-one career coaching and networking opportunities. All of the instructors are well-seasoned in this arena and will mentor students along the way.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate. Students are sure to gain confidence in their job search and overall skillset — ready to tackle any job interview.
The cost of the program is $75. However, fees are waived for qualifying individuals who are either unemployed, underemployed, or those pending layoff. To see if you qualify, give us a call at 252-246-1421.
Classes start on March 1, and will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:30 am through April 7. For more information or to register for The Going Places Network, contact Robby Taylor, Director of Workforce Development, at rtaylor@wilsoncc.edu or 252- 246-1421. #WilsonCC We make Wilson work.
